Passion fruit products and applications have experienced a boom in the food & drink and cosmetics sectors this year

Consumer demand for exotic products, especially passion fruit, is already well established when it comes to food, juice and cosmetics products. As a global company specialised in processing passion fruit and extracting its derivatives and ingredients, Passina will proudly present its innovative projects along with its new branding, at the SIAL, international food trade fair in Paris on 21-25 October 2018.

New opportunities for passion fruit

Having pioneered the introduction of passion fruit to the European market over 50 years ago, Passina remains a leading key player in Europe and the Americas to this day. More recently, the Passina group agreed to sell its subsidiary Concentra Europe BV with its Dutch and German subsidiaries to the Döhler group. The sale is currently being evaluated by the antitrust authorities and is conditional on their approval. The Swiss company Concentra Holding AG, the owner of the
Passina brand, will now focus on passion fruit juices, concentrates and derivatives, and also on identifying new opportunities in other sectors, such as food ingredients, fragrances and aromas and cosmetics.
“Drawing on our rich R&D legacy, we’re working on new passion fruit-based products and solutions for the food, health and cosmetics sectors through the collaboration of our multidisciplinary team with partners from labs, research centres, and firms. We’re excited to be developing and producing new, previously unexplored formulas and applications”, says Passina CEO, Dr. Pablo Hafner.

New branding

International visitors to SIAL Paris 2018 can discover the new Passina branding at Passina’s booth (D 224, Hall 5C). The logo reflects a fresh and innovative approach to the new range of solutions designed to meet consumer needs and expectations in the food and beverage, food supplement and cosmetics sectors. Crucial to this process is the brand’s conscious commitment to pursue responsible sustainability-oriented practices with all local communities linked to the Passina business.
